Okay this style is seriously the easiest thing ever. Like EVER. I got the inspiration for the rope braid from Sharon Blaine (like always she has the best hairstyle inspiration to recreate into your own). Okay for the quick and Easy Styles for the Holidays!
Side Note: If you already are working with day old hair (ha) or textured hair then don’t even worry about adding more to it or it will gunk up the hair more. I did add some hairspray at the end to make sure the braid held still wrapped around the twists.
Step 1:Part your hair on what ever side you like best for this style. I chose my non balding side to show haha.
Step 2. Divide hair into three sections. The first two top sections will be the twist while a small section behind the ear it to make the wrap around braid look.
Step 3. Begin rope braiding the hair from top to bottom and secure with elastic. Repeat to opposite side.
Step 4. Take the third section underneath the twisted part and begin wrapping around the twist. I skipped every other section of twits because I had a limited amount of hair to work with.
Step 5. Remove the elastic on the twisted section and combine all hair into one rubber band.
Step 6. I am a fan of pulling out the braid in sections for a chunky braid look. But that is totally optional!
What look do you lean towards usually? Clean and classy? Or textured and messy? I like both depending on the day. When you do this look on the more messy side don’t worry about hair sticking out or a little messier. It will flow with the entire look.
