Your Hair is your best accessory. (At least that is what I tell myself in order to MAKE myself do my hair these days!) Three kids has been a challenge to get ready in the mornings. Here is our morning routine if you are interested! Follow the steps below for this SIMPLE dutch braid bun. I loved this for those hot summer days when you really, really want to cut your hair because of the heat but just aren’t ready for that plunge! High up off the neck is the next best option! If you are into the Half Top knot you can find there tutorial HERE.
- First, I went through and sprayed my hair with this texture powder from big Sexy to give it a little more “hold”. I had just washed and blow dried my hair and it was WAY to silky “fresh” to allow for any hold.
- Next, I flipped my hair upside down and brush it all out. I began to braid a simple dutch braid down the back, making my way towards the high part of where I wanted a pony tail.
- Like I mentioned before, silky hair doesn’t really do it for me, so I began teasing the ponytail with my comb all the way to the ends.
- Then I took the teased hair and held onto the base and began twisting the remain ponytail around the base until there was no more hair. I used bobby pins to hold it in place and spray as a finish. I also adjusted the dutch braid slightly to give more thickness (pulling it out a little).
All done! Try it and let me know how it went lovelies!
