Oh my sweet baby is getting bigger! When did we fly by to you being a big girl running around saying things like, “Mom I have a great idea, here it is.” When I think about the time that has happened from the day we brought you home with shaky hands I am so incredibly proud of you and the many many things you have done and learned along the way. Do you even know how terrified we both were to bring you home that day? Your beautiful red hair and tiny hands were terrifying to us!
You have become such a strong independent girl and I am so proud of you. When I asked you last month what kind of party you wanted you without hesitation answered excitedly, “A Cowgirl Farmer Cactus Party”. So as busy as we were this week I tried my best to plan the best party you wanted in such short notice. Even though it didn’t go as planned of course. We tried our best to make it all come together little one.
You have no idea that I woke up as soon as the light came up and ran out to the store to get a few supplies, and get ready before you even woke up to fill the room full of balloons and cactus joy you love so much.
So this party was incredibly simple due to the fact we on are a strict budget and saved for her special present (a bike) . We had family in town for a graduation and spent a little more than we thought for gas money, and dinner that week. So we wanted to still make sure this little gal got a special little party. I am by no way a “Pinterest party planner” as much as I would love to be that awesome, I am not. Honestly, I get all my good ideas from the incredible Jessica from Fantabulosity. she was the one who really launched me as a blogger and set me in the right direction on how to blog. So I completely admire her and the drive she puts into her own posts on how to throw the perfect parties.
When it came to my own party throwing skills I seriously fail and rely on Amazon, Pinterest, & Hobby Lobby to get me through haha! Don’t we all though???
So because we were on a budget I did not go all out like normal.
What To Buy For A Cowgirl / Cactus Birthday Party
Yummy Snacks. Duh! We forgot to put little cards out to tell what each one “was suppose to be” but that was okay!
What To Make
-Pin the flower on the cactus (cardboard)
-Wanted Sign (cardboard)
-Outdoor Garden Planting Fun
-Chalk Board Party Table (ikea DIY coming soon)
That is it! The things I got for her little decorations were definitely dollar section decorations. Some from previous birthdays we got from Amazon. But in all I feel like it was a successful birthday party and she had so much fun with many cactus plants she received for her little garden! It was simple and under our budget for the amount of time we had to plan.
What party themes do you have planned coming up? I have two more birthdays in the next couple months so i have some time to prepare these ones. How do you decide what to do for the DIRST birthday? I always fail at those! Thanks for stopping by and reading again and again.
